Hondex — by Honda Electronics — has been building ultrasonic sounders and transducers in Japan since 1949. Clean bottom discrimination, straightforward hardware and transducers that hold their reading in a chop. We supply, install and service Hondex sounders, including the data cabling and interfacing to your existing plotter and network.

HDX-121-BB (Black-Box Model)
Black-box echo sounder and GPS plotter combo built for commercial fishing — you supply the monitor, Hondex supplies the picture. Honda Electronics' 'Di' direct digital conversion pulls deeper detection in deep water and higher resolution in shallow, with dual display of a single frequency at two different gain settings and whole-display gain adjustment across past history. Depth range to 1,500 m (5,000 ft), C-MAP NT+ / MAX charting by SD card, 64,000 wake points, 48,000 marks, 1,000 waypoints and 40 routes. Ships as the HE-121-BB main unit with DC07 power cable and the CR04 remote; GP-16H / GP-17H / GP-17HD GPS and thru-hull or transom water temp kits are optional. Made in Japan.

A good sounder on a badly placed transducer reads like a bad sounder. We pick the location off your hull and running attitude, fair it properly, and tune the gain and range at sea so the picture is honest at working speed.
